How to Fix a Disposable Vape

March 31, 2023

Does your disposable vape overheat or stop producing vapor at times? Although disposable vapes are generally reliable, there can be some occasions when they stop working properly and need to be fixed. No stress - there are a number of solutions for how to fix a vape. Read on for some easy tips and tricks so you can get your disposable vape pen up and ready to be puffed once more.

Why is my disposable vape not working?

Before we get to the solutions, it's important to recognize the source of your vape pen problems. If your brand-new disposable vape is somehow not hitting or working, here are some of the most common reasons why that might be happening:

1. The battery of your disposable vape is dead or has a defect

If the light on your disposable vape blinks, it usually means the battery is dead or is about to run out. If the indicator light stays solid but you aren't getting a hit, then this may be a sign of a battery defect.

2. Your disposable device has a blocked mouthpiece

Is something blocking the airflow of your vape device's mouthpiece? This might be preventing you from vaping properly.

3. Your e-liquid or vape juice level is low

Does your disposable vape taste burnt? This may be a sign that there is not enough e-liquid on the wick of your vape, resulting in a burnt hit. The low juice level could also have affected the atomizer coil inside your vape pen.

4. Your vape pen is leaking

If you spot vape juice on the outside of your vape or the mouthpiece, this indicates a leakage problem with your device.

5. You're inhaling your disposable vape too hard or for too long

Most disposable vapes have a cut-off time for user safety, so if you are inhaling very aggressively, there is a chance that your device will automatically cut you off.

6. Your disposable vape is overheating

Disposable vape pens do not thrive in very hot environments which cause them to overheat. Overheating can also happen if you are overusing your disposable vape device.

7. You're covering the airflow holes at the bottom of the disposable vape when hitting

Disposable vapes usually have one or two little slots at the bottom that need to be kept open to allow air into the vape device for successful hits.

8. You purchased a faulty disposable vape device

If your new disposable vape doesn't work straight from the box, this most likely means you have a faulty device, in which case you may need to seek a replacement.

How do you fix a disposable vape that won't hit?

Now that you're familiar with some vape pen problem scenarios, these are some ways you can fix your disposable vape pen:

Recharge your disposable vape or replace it with a new battery or device

Simply plug your rechargeable disposable vape into your charger to recharge your device - this usually won't take more than an hour for reliable disposable vapes. If your vape device is not rechargeable and has a dead battery, it may be time to replace your device.

Unblock the mouthpiece of your disposable vape

Try to use a small, thin object such as a paper clip or a toothpick to unclog any blockage in the mouthpiece of your disposable vape device.

Lightly tap your disposable vape pen

Occasionally, air bubbles will get trapped inside the flavor pods or cartridges of your disposable devices. If your device is not working properly, try lightly tapping your vape device against a flat surface to release the bubbles.

Let your device rest in between hits

If you are a frequent vaper, try to give your disposable e cigarette some time in between puffs so it doesn't overheat. This can also prevent a burnt disposable vape taste from occurring due to the excess heating.

Check e-liquid levels or for leakages

Pay attention to the indicator light on your vape device - if it is running low on battery or vape juice, the light will start blinking as a warning. If so, you should check the e-liquid levels of your device. Stay alert for any liquid which may be seeping out of your disposable vape pen and find the source immediately, so you can secure your device and prevent future leakages.

Seek professional advice

If you have tried all of the above suggestions and your disposable vape still won't hit, please contact your disposable vape provider. They may be able to examine your vape properly to find the root of the problem.
